Tonight, April 21, at 7 pm or tomorrow at 10 am spend time in nature -- while helping in a native plant garden near the Muddy Branch. Ida Pearl Green, age 106, has passed away. You may have met her at one of our native plant events at Pleasant View. Her burial will be at PV next Monday. The PV garden has gotten seriously overgrown as I've been too overwhelmed this spring to spend time there. I'd love it to look good for Pearl's burial. Jeff and I worked there this afternoon and will return tonight at 7. Join us please. Or come tomorrow at 10 am. If you don't already know about PV, check out eartheast.org/new-page

Bad news: The Muddy Branch Alliance plant sale closes Friday April 18.

Good news: We’ve still got fantastic plants like pollinator powerhouse mountain mint (Pycnanthemum muticum), hardworking companion Virginia wild rye (Elymus virginicus), and structural stunner Culver’s root (Veronicastrum virginicum).

Even better news: You can get these great plants for 10% off by adding the coupon code CHOOSENATIVES when you check out.

Get them before they’re gone! muddy-branch-alliance.square.site/

A trio of asters will provide color and support pollinators in your yard until October or even later - but these plants are only available until April 18!

Don’t miss your chance to take home white wood aster (Aster divaricatus), New England aster (Aster novae angliae), and New York aster (Aster novi belgii).

Ferns add that special something to a yard, don’t they? Sensitive fern (Onoclea sensibilis) will command a shady wet spot, while the smaller maidenhair fern (Adiantum pedatum) will venture out into somewhat sunnier, drier locations. Pick the one that’s perfect for your planting!

Native grasses are that perfect blend of conventional and creative for your yard! Fox sedge (Carex vulpinoidea) is great for a shady slope, while soft rush (Juncus effusus) loves a wet spot or pond edge.

Upgrade your grass at our native plant sale: muddy-branch-alliance.square.site/

Want more flowers all year round? Blue mistflower (Eupatorium coelestinum), hyssop-leaved thoroughwort (Eupatorium hyssopifolium), and wrinkleleaf goldenrod (Solidago rugosa) will keep your garden colorful until October or even later in the season.

The blooms will last well into the fall, but our plant sale is only open until April 18. Get these great natives before they’re gone!
