Watts Branch Watershed Alliance – Board of directors.

Annita Seckinger
President

Annita is one of the founding board members and leads the water sampling along Watts Branch. She has been an active supporter of water quality initiatives around the County, participating in various cleanup efforts as well as weed warrior events. She has a deep commitment to protecting the health of not just the watershed, but the planet in general. Annita holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Maryland as a water and soils scientist and a Master’s in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden. [Board Member since 1/2012, Current Term expires 7/2024].

Jennifer Walker
Vice President

Jennifer has been an active weed warrior with the County, and supports projects in the City of Rockville as a volunteer.  She loves including native plants in her yard. [Board Member since 7/2020, Current Term expires 7/2024]

Paul Hlavinka
Treasurer

Paul Hlavinka has been active in water quality initiatives around the County and joins the Watts Branch Watershed Alliance Board after nearly 10 years of activity in neighboring watershed Muddy Branch.  Paul has a Masters in Environmental Engineering from the University of Maryland and works in the environmental field.  He enjoys making a difference through trash pickups, and working with volunteers in weed warrior, monitoring water quality or just exploring the areas streams and parks. [Board Member since 6/2020, Current Term expires 7/2023]

Ray Sauvajot
Secretary

Ray joins us as a board member with many years of experience in natural resource science and conservation, and holds B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in biology and ecology. He and his family moved to the Rockville area from California in 2014, and they now enjoy frequent walks along Watts Branch trails, observing birds and other wildlife, and learning to identify the many trees and plants. Ray is excited to share his enthusiasm to explore, discover, and care for the diverse ecosystems that make up the Watts Branch Watershed. Projects include Frog Watch and stream monitoring. [Board Member since 11/2020, Current Term expires 7/2023]

Chuck Woolery
Board Member

Chuck joins us as a board member with significant experience in public health policy.  He is a certified Weed Warrior by the County and loves to identify and attack invasive species in our parks.  He leads the Weed Warrior volunteer iniative within the City of Rockville. [Board Member since 11/2020, Current Term expires 10/2023]

Tyndall Traversa
Board Member

Tyndall joins us as a board member with significant experience in organizational development.  She is also a tireless gardener and loves to use native plants in her landscaping.  [Board Member since 7/2022, Current Term expires 7/2024]
