Tree Steward Program - Looking for Good Folks to Help

Thursday, June 14, 2012 - 11:00pm

Montgomery Parks is searching for a few good men, or women, to become urban tree steward volunteers.

Volunteers scout selected parks and report concerns to the Park’s Tree Steward Program Coordinator and emergencies to the park’s service center at least four times each year and after storms. Volunteers also are asked to assist in public relations and outreach.

Volunteers are asked to commit for at least one year.

Training sessions for urban tree stewards begin June 23. The initial session is scheduled to last eight hours. It will begin at 8 a.m. June 23 at Argyle Park and Rec Center, 1030 Forest Glen Road in Silver Spring.

Volunteers can register at www.montgomeryparks.org.
