Stream Monitoring Coming - Volunteers Needed!

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 - 11:42pm

We have asked that the Department of Natural Resources select monitoring points here in the Muddy Branch, for their citizens driven Stream Wader Program.  In return we have been asked to include Seneca Creek and Watts Branch.  This is great news.  Now we need volunteers!  Please consider taking the training on February 25th (the February 4th class filled up), and letting us know you are available.  We will be coordinating the points to monitor and resources.

The first training session (now full) of Maryland Stream Waders at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary in Lothian, MD.   However, the available training session of Maryland Stream Waders at Fairview Outdoor Education Center (Washington County). The training will begin at 9 AM and end no later than 4:00 PM. Must signup beforehand. Boots or waders (chest waders preferred) required if you have them. After the indoor training we will either walk or drive to a nearby stream to practice collecting benthic samples.
